The big picture

Built around the way you sell.

Currency presentation helps customers understand a price in a familiar context, but it should also fit the way the business manages its catalog. HEYA’s Market Settings distinguishes the default currency shown to visitors from the available currencies they can choose. The settings also describe inventory values as managed in USD. Automatic Currency Rates and Default Currency by Country add related tools for keeping the presentation aligned with your market strategy.

A closer look

Multi-currency, auto rates, in detail.

01

Choose default and available currencies

Set the initial currency customers see, then select the additional currencies available for browsing. These choices are part of the current store’s market settings. Keep the list purposeful: each currency should support a customer need and make sense alongside the store’s country coverage and payment configuration. More choices are useful only when the resulting experience is clear.

02

Manage the rate relationship

Available-currency settings point to backend exchange-rate management, and the app catalog includes Automatic Currency Rates for updating rates automatically. Review the configuration used by your store and verify how a representative product is displayed. Rate updates affect the relationship between source values and customer-facing prices, so they deserve an explicit place in your operating checks.

03

Adapt the initial experience by country

Default Currency by Country is described as connecting visitors with a default currency associated with their country. This can make the first browsing experience more familiar without requiring the customer to start by changing a setting. Review the country and currency choices together, and remember that display currency does not by itself establish a payment provider’s settlement behavior.

In practice · illustrative scenario

Familiar browsing across two markets

A retailer can present USD in its USA store and GBP in its UK store, with additional browsing currencies where appropriate. A shared understanding of the catalog’s underlying values helps the team maintain pricing, while each storefront presents customers with a more familiar starting point.

Good to know

A little more clarity.

Can customers switch between currencies?

Market Settings describes an available-currency selection that visitors can switch between. Configure that list together with the store’s default currency and exchange-rate workflow.

Does display currency determine settlement currency?

Not necessarily. Display, payment, and settlement are different parts of the transaction. Confirm the provider’s supported currencies and settlement arrangement rather than assuming they follow the storefront display automatically.
